In Search of Nothing (2020)

Either the Universe evolved from nothing or it is infinite. But neither of these theories are acceptable for the human mind. We are familiar with the concept of Nothing from religion and philosophy, but also from physics, where the quantum vacuum still remains a mystery. As soon as one attempts to investigate it, the vacuum is filled with photons and thereby ceases to be a vacuum. The textual work follows the ramifications of Google’s “related images”-algorithm when searching for the word “nothingness”. Simultaneously, the search engine´s related pop- up ads make evident how knowledge and the distribution of information is hijacked and capitalised by the highest bidder, or by the company willing to pay the highest prize for Google's SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
