The Stories We Tell are not The Stories We are Told (2020)
Generative 6-channel video installation
Steel, MDF, green screen paint,
programmed and mapped video projection
An algorithm randomly plays 80 video clips that do not have an immediate connection. In an unpredictable rhythm, the screens are left empty and the green screen surface now appears as a perceivable material. The work examines these empty spaces and how we subconsciously fill them with meaning. How we consistently create narratives and how the elements shift and transform meaning as the algorithm is choosing a new path.
